Jackson’s Morning Routine

As Jackson is burrowed away during the night, he needs a little bit of extra time in the mornings getting up. Here’s a quick 2 minute video of his morning routine…

And We’re Back…with Hospital Visitors!

My apologies for the two week delay in a new post on Jackson. We have been getting used to a routine at home and how Jackson is effecting our every day lives.

At the hospital, we had a lot of visitors come by. Below are some of the first people to meet Jackson!

William Jackson Van Dyke is Here!

Well, the day finally arrived today! After starting contractions at 6 PM on Wednesday night, they continued through the night into the morning hours of Thursday. At 4:15 AM, we decided it was time to head to the hospital.

I’ll save you the details, but William Jackson Van Dyke was born on April 28, 2011, weighing 8 lbs. 6.5 oz. and was 20″ long. Here are some of the first pictures of him and our newly formed family!

Oh, the Things You Can Do…

It has been incredible to watch Jennifer’s body transform, sometimes literally overnight. As Jennifer adjusts, she has found new ways to cope with the baby bump that Jackson is producing…

Accessory Furniture Week: Pt. 4

Our final post for Accessory Furniture Week is a tad look into the future.

This is all about the high chair that we got. It’s a sassy orange, cream and gray number. The future part of this whole thing is that Jackson won’t be sitting for a long time. However, I decided to take it upon myself and see if it was comfortable enough for King Jackson. Looks like it will be good for him. Me? Not so much.

Accessory Furniture Week: Pt. 3

On today’s edition of Accessory Week, the girls are at the helm again. They conquered the Portable Swing yesterday and today…it’s the Bouncer!

We received a Baby Trends Monkey Around Bouncer. Comes complete with mirror and stuffed monkey. Enjoy!

Accessory Furniture Week: Pt. 2

It was Ladies Night as Jennifer and the “ourtney” from Gourtney took their turn as piecing together something we received at a recent baby shower.

Below is the Bright Starts Portable Swing. Very fun to look at and I’m sure that it’s entertaining for the babies as well.

Enjoy the photos!

ACCESSORY FURNITURE WEEK! Pt. 1

That’s right folks. Furniture week was great last week, but now we’re kicking things up a notch with ACCESSORY FURNITURE WEEK!

What’s accessory furniture you ask? Great question! It’s those things that considered somewhere in between furniture and accessories.

Our first example this week is our stroller. But it’s not just a stroller any more. Those are terms for people who grew up in the 80′s (me!). These things are now considered “travel systems”. With the upgraded technology, they had to change the name.

YaiYai and Oppa got Jackson his travel system. It’s a stroller, carrier and car seat that all work together for the greater good of sleep deprived parents everywhere. This did not take too long to put together. As a mom and dad combo now, we have mastered our skills of skim reading instructions and assembling (accessory) furniture. Here are some pictures from that fateful encounter with our travel system.

Furniture Week: Pt. 3

Our last big piece of furniture to put together was the dresser. It didn’t take nearly as long after we learned the process of putting drawers together from the changing table. I had backup once again as the “G” in the power couple Gourtney came to the rescue to help!

Furniture Week: Pt. 2

This episode of Furniture Week brings us to Jackson’s crib.

It’s made from one solid piece of oak, harvested deep within America’s best woodland areas. Once we ordered the crib, the perfect tree was found to carve this wonderfully, handmade bed for our son. We spared no expense when we ordered this crib…

Ok…most of that (actually none) is true. We ordered it from a website and it was probably cut by robots. Oh well. Here’s to a great imagination and our power couple friends, Gourtney, who came to help put the crib together.
